The doctor called with Hannah's lab results today.
Vitamin A - normal
Vitamin D - low
Hemaglobin - low
Urine - normal
Culture - contaminated
Dissacharide biopsies - normal
Fecal elastase - low
The fecal elastase had the doctor most concerned. Normal is above 200; Hannah was in the 130s. The doctor said she's never seen it that low where it wasn't cystic fibrosis. So, tomorrow, we go get the sweat test for cystic fibrosis.
I'm worried and disappointed, but God's grace is sufficient for even this. I'll post more when I know more!

We'll keep your sweet Hannah in our prayers. Is there any other reason or condition that can cause that number to be so low?
ReplyDeleteYes, it could be Shwachman-Diamond syndrome, which is more rare and less likely but also possible.
ReplyDeletePraying for you and your family!
